EstateCo (estateco.com) is a rapidly growing startup seeking a highly experienced, versatile professional to manage complex estate administration and property conveyance processes. This is a unique, high-impact role requiring a blend of legal, financial, and real estate expertise to serve as the functional Personal Representative for multiple estates. We need a meticulous self-starter ready to help build our business.
What You'll Do (Primary Responsibilities):
You will be managing a portfolio of estates, executing the comprehensive duties required to administer an estate from start to finish. Your workload will be structured approximately as follows:
- 50% Personal Representative Duties (Estate Administration): Execute the comprehensive list of duties to administer an estate. This includes locating and inventorying assets, managing utilities, checking benefits (Social Security, veteran's, life insurance), applying for death benefits, filing tax returns (estate, gift, intangible, income), handling distribution, and filing the final court accounting and discharge.
- 25% Paralegal Work (Probate & Compliance): Prepare, track, and file all necessary probate documents with the court. Ensure meticulous record-keeping and compliance throughout the administration process.
- 25% Title & Lien Management (Real Estate Conveyance): Facilitate and clear title commitments. This involves communicating with various parties to obtain crucial information like payoff requests, HOA fees/dues, property taxes, and outstanding liens. A key component is negotiating outstanding liens down to maximize estate value.
What You'll Bring (Required & Preferred Qualifications):
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal (or equivalent legal support role) IS REQUIRED.
- 5+ years of experience in Property Title is preferred.
- Significant experience in Accounting or financial management is preferred.
Education:
- Some college is required.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) is strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong financial acumen and proven negotiation ability.
- Must be a self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
Schedule & Environment:
- Job Location: Orlando, FL (On-site)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Transition to Hybrid: This is an on-site role in Orlando, FL to start. After a successful 6-8 month probationary period, demonstrating high performance and autonomy, the position will transition to a hybrid model.
Remote/Out-of-State Candidates: Will only be considered if they are a "Unicorn" possessing 5+ years Paralegal, 5+ years Property Title, 5+ years Accounting, AND a JD.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual Salary: $100,000
- Benefits package includes health, dental, and paid time off (details discussed during interview).
