Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant and paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various areas of law, including but not limited to estate planning, probate administration, family law, personal injury and real estate. This role requires strong organizational skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist attorneys with case preparation and management, including document review and legal drafting.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Manage client files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and maintained in document management systems.
- Prepare and organize legal documents for court filings, meetings, and client consultations.
- Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars.
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather pertinent information for cases.
- Collaborate with team members on project management tasks to ensure timely completion of legal projects.
- Assist in the preparation of contracts and other legal agreements while ensuring accuracy through proofreading.
Skills
- Excellent writing skills with a focus on legal drafting and transcription accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong clerical experience including data entry, filing, and document management.
- Effective phone etiquette for client interactions and communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
