The Estate Planning Associate Attorney supports the legal team with client engagement and counseling, drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents, and managing project workflow in the practice areas of estate planning, along with business transactional work and probate.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

· Draft various estate planning instruments, including, but not limited to last wills and testaments, revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts for life insurance, spousal lifetime access trusts, gifting trusts, powers of attorney, and advance health care directives

· Develop elements of estate plans for executives and entrepreneurs that integrate business planning into estate plans

· Counsel clients on various aspects of estate planning and business planning, including organizations, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies

· Perform income, estate and gift tax planning, asset protection planning and disability planning activities for clients

· Draft and negotiate prenuptial agreements and co-tenancy agreements

Qualifications:

· Juris Doctorate with a minimum of three years of relevant experience related to the firm’s practice areas, particularly with estate planning with a willingness to learn business transactions and probate

· Admitted to the Georgia Bar and in good standing

· Experience with billable hour targets or production-based goals within a private practice environment

· Knowledge of taxation for individuals, trusts and small businesses and liability protection strategies

· Foundational understanding of income tax, partnership tax and estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax concepts as they relate to the firm’s practice areas

· Excellent writing and drafting skills

· Strong negotiation skills

· Professional and personable speaking ability

· Attention to detail and organization

· Persistence and thoroughness in completing work tasks

· Ability to identify and manage complex problems

· Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Pay: $74,573.47 - $100,000.00 per year
