Estate Planning Attorney

A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its New York City office. This is a senior-level opportunity requiring substantial expertise in advising high net-worth clients on complex estate planning and wealth transfer strategies. Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience in estate planning working with high net-worth clients to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a sophisticated book of high net-worth clients
  • Advise clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, charitable giving strategies, and related wealth preservation techniques.
  • Draft and oversee the preparation of complex estate planning documents, including trusts, family partnerships, and related structures.
  • Provide strategic tax guidance in collaboration with in-house and external advisors (CPAs, wealth managers, etc.).
  • Maintain and deepen long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in New York.
  • Minimum of 8 years of dedicated experience in estate planning and tax law.
  • Proven background advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Exceptional knowledge of federal estate and gift tax laws; familiarity with New York state-specific estate and tax regulations is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate independently and provide high-level strategic counsel.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
