Estate Planning Attorney - Senior or Partner

About the Opportunity:
An established elder law and estate planning firm in the Durham area is a highly experienced attorney to join their team. Known for their compassionate approach and deep expertise in elder law, the firm provides a supportive and collaborative environment with clear opportunities for advancement.

This is an opportunity with a fast track to a partnership role and candidates must have 10+ years of estate planning experience to be considered. There is no requirement to bring a book of business and no buy-in is required for partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and review estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
• Advise clients on estate, gift, and income tax strategies
• Manage client relationships and oversee cases from intake through resolution
• Stay current with developments in estate planning and elder law
• Contribute to the firm’s team-oriented culture and client-first mission
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in North Carolina
• Minimum of 10 years experience in estate planning or related practice areas (e.g., probate, elder law, tax planning)
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Certified specialist in estate planning and probate law
• A client-focused approach and commitment to delivering practical legal solutions
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
