Job Summary - Estate Planning Paralegal/Legal Assistant
We are seeking a BILINGUAL (Spanish-English), detail-oriented, and organized Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the attorney in estate planning. This role requires strong administrative skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in document preparation and review.
This is a client-facing roll and will include extensive communication with clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research and gathering relevant information.
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents
- Translate simple documents from Spanish to English
- Coordinate schedules, appointments, and meetings for attorneys while managing deadlines effectively.
- Support litigation processes by preparing trial materials and assisting with document review.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and documentation and provide updates on case progress, as well as maintain up to date records on client contact information and balances/contracts.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with legal standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a law firm is preferred.
- Familiarity working in an estate planning is a MUST.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in document review processes and legal terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to transcribe documents accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in using legal software applications such as Cerenade is a plus.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and also Google Calendar
