Esthetician & Massage Therapist - Dual Licensed

Summary:

Provides exceptional spa services to members and guests by delivering massage therapy, facial treatments, skincare services, and waxing in a professional, welcoming, and relaxing environment. Utilizes a variety of massage modalities and advanced aesthetic techniques while ensuring the highest level of guest care, comfort, and confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;

  • Performs massage therapy, facial treatments, skincare services, and waxing services in accordance with established spa standards and protocols.
  • Provides exceptional customer service by creating a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for all members and guests.
  • Conducts client consultations to assess skincare concerns, wellness goals, treatment preferences, and contraindications prior to services.
  • Analyzes skin conditions and determines appropriate facial treatments and skincare recommendations for each client.
  • Performs massage and body treatments while maintaining proper draping techniques, client comfort, and appropriate pressure throughout the service.
  • Performs waxing services using proper sanitation and safety protocols, including facial and body waxing with hard and soft wax techniques.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality regarding client information and remains attentive and sensitive to individual client needs.
  • Recommends retail products, home care regimens, and additional spa services based on client needs and treatment goals.
  • Educates members and guests on the benefits of massage therapy, skincare treatments, and wellness services.
  • Maintains treatment rooms, equipment, linens, and supplies in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner in accordance with spa and health regulations.
  • Ensures treatment rooms are properly prepared and stocked prior to each appointment.
  • Manages appointment times efficiently to ensure each client receives their full scheduled service.
  • Assists with scheduling, confirming appointments, and processing payments as needed.
  • Maintains accurate treatment records and client notes in accordance with spa policies.
  • Communicates professionally and courteously with members, guests, co-workers, management, and the public.
  • Adheres to all spa policies, procedures, safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintains current knowledge of massage therapy techniques, skincare trends, products, and wellness practices.
  • Exhibits and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects positively on The Polo Club.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Wellness Manager or Director of Wellness.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires knowledge of massage therapy techniques, skincare treatments, waxing procedures, anatomy, and wellness practices.
  • Must possess current Massage Therapist and Esthetician/Facial Specialist licenses as required by the state.
  • Ability to perform 30, 60, and 90-minute massage and facial services.
  • Experience with various massage modalities and advanced facial treatments preferred.
  • Must be experienced in chemical peels, microdermabrasion, LED light therapy, lash and brow tinting, and advanced skincare treatments.
  • Experience in waxing protocols, including facial and body waxing, nose, ears, bikini, and Brazilian waxing using hard and soft wax preferred.
  • Requires excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Requires good judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of spa services, skincare products, body treatments, and wellness offerings required.
  • Knowledge and proper use of spa equipment including hydroculator, hydraulic massage table, hot stone equipment, microdermabrasion devices, LED equipment, and waxing tools preferred.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively in English and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with members, guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during busy periods.
  • Previous luxury spa, resort, or club experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Certificate from college or technical school plus three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively on a one-on-one basis to members and guests.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Internet software and Spa software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Current Esthetician license, Massage Therapy license, First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
