Position Summary:
Glitz School of Cosmetology in Las Cruces is seeking a passionate and experienced Esthetics Instructor or a Cosmetology Instructor who specializes in Ethetics. The ideal candidate will have a valid esthetics or cosmetology license issued from the NM Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists or a minimum of three years of practical experience in the esthetics field and be eligible for a provisional instructor’s license. This role involves teaching esthetics theory and practical applications, preparing students for state licensing exams, and inspiring future beauty professionals.

Schedule Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and some Saturdays

Key Responsibilities:

• Instructional Duties:
• Deliver comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards of Glitz School of Cosmetology.
• Instruct students in various aspects of esthetics, including skincare, facials, makeup application, hair removal, and other treatments.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and procedures, ensuring students understand and adhere to safety and sanitation standards.
• Provide hands-on training and supervise students’ practical work in a clinical setting.
• Student Development:
• Assess and evaluate students’ progress through exams, practical tests, and assignments.
• Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills and knowledge.
• Mentor and support students, fostering a positive and motivating learning environment.
• Prepare students for state licensing exams, ensuring they meet all regulatory requirements.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and continuing education programs.
• Collaborate with other instructors and administrative staff to continuously improve the curriculum and student experience.
• Assist in the development and updating of educational materials and resources.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience:
• Valid Esthetics or Cosmetology License issued by the NM Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists OR have 3 years experience and be eligible for a provisional instructors license.
• Current esthetics or cosmetology license issued by the NM Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists.
• Experience in the esthetics field.
• Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of esthetics theory and practical applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
