About the Role
As a leader for our Estimating Team, you will ensure the accuracy of our proposals and the performance of our team. You will work with our Operations Team to get feedback about production rates and customer requirements, and guide our Estimating Team in continuous improvement. You will train, develop, and mentor our Estimating Team and lead hiring efforts as we expand the team. You will set and oversee bidding strategies and manage team performance in alignment with company objectives. You will manage a book of accounts consisting of key trade partners that involve complex bidding requirements.
Compensation:
$80,000 - $90,000 plus incentives
Responsibilities:-
Manage the Estimating Team to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Supervise, mentor, and train Estimators to ensure high performance.

Lead weekly Estimating team L10 meetings, and oversee project initiatives that align with the company vision.

Manage and grow key accounts and cultivate strong trade partner relationships.

Take the lead on high priority and complex proposals.

Oversee the Bid Board to ensure bids are being reviewed and submitted accurately and on-time according to project or customer requirements.

Attend job walks, customer meetings, and networking events as required.

Proactively seek out new leads and opportunities.

Lead process improvement and standardization of takeoffs, bid preparation, and submission.

Become the expert and key resource on the Estimating team, and develop and maintain a Knowledge Base for current and future Estimators.

Validate Production Rates used by the Estimating Team with the Operations Team and analyze profit margins.

Understand the unique nuances of different clients and proposal delivery methods to maximize effectiveness.

Lead and coach Estimators in customer relations, including scope reviews and negotiations.

Perform initial review of contract to ensure scope and pricing match proposal before handing off the job.

Maintain meticulous records in the CRM and filing systems.

Utilize data and metrics, and leverage the team and resources available to operate at peak performance.

Ensure the Estimating team is meeting or exceeding key performance indicators, and work with the Revenue Director on strategy and tactics to accomplish goals.

Quickly become an expert in our solutions and value proposition for construction final cleaning.

Qualifications:
Required
-
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team to meet or exceed established objectives.

Proven experience in construction estimating with exceptional customer service.

In-depth knowledge of construction processes, estimating, and project management.

Experience with all construction bid delivery methods.
-
Detail-focused self-starter who is highly organized and able to get things done effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Expert proficiency in mathematics and Excel, and highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with estimating takeoff software, ideally Bluebeam.

4 years of Construction Estimating experience within specialty subcontractor trades.

3 years of Management experience.

Devoted to lifelong professional development and embraces learning and process improvement.Technologically savvy; able to learn and utilize software and systems quickly.

Able to work out of our El Cajon office daily with occasional visits to project sites or client offices.

Team player who is flexible with a can-do positive attitude.
Preferred
-
Experience with Building Connected, Procore, Bidmail, Construct Connect, etc.

Experience with Monday.com and HubSpot CRM.

Successful in negotiating deals and performing contract review.

Demonstrate strong customer service experience, preferably 1-2 years.

Track record of leading the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Construction Estimating Certifications or Continuous Education completed.

Experience with Knowify.

Experience with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
