We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in cost estimation for process plant equipment and systems. The role involves preparing comprehensive price estimates for both local (India) and international projects within the Desmet Group. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prepare complete price estimates for process plants and related equipment.
Coordinate with designated workshops to obtain quotations for fabricated vessels, including:
- Pressure Vessels, Distillation Columns, Reactors, Hoppers, Filters, Storage Tanks, and Ducts.
Source and evaluate quotations for bought-out items such as:
- Vacuum Systems, Centrifugal Pumps, Plate Heat Exchangers, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Packing Materials, Centrifugal Fans, Compressors, Geared Motors, etc.
Revalidate pricing with workshops, vendors, and suppliers for similar equipment.
Conduct internal estimation for critical equipment such as Deodorizers, Bleachers, Reactors, Distillation Columns, and Storage Tanks.
Collaborate with the Electrical Department for electrical and instrumentation pricing.
Provide accurate equipment pricing to local and export sales teams for quotation preparation.
Estimate vessel prices for expansion projects as required.
Regularly update pricing for standard equipment such as Mobilizers, Winwax Filters, and Sublimators.
Perform weight estimation of critical equipment for layout purposes.
Work closely with Proposal/Sales Managers to understand requirements and deliver accordingly.

Knowledge & Expertise

Proven experience in estimation of storage tanks, cylindrical vessels with dished ends, pressure vessels, distillation columns, reactors, crystallizers, heat exchangers, pumps, boilers, gearboxes, and geared motors.
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including plate cutting, plate rolling, dish end and cone formation, coil bending, welding, drilling, machining, and material testing.
Familiarity with mechanical systems such as vacuum systems, centrifugal pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, and geared motors.
Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, general assembly drawings, plant layouts, and P&ID diagrams.
Understanding of piping codes and standards (ANSI, ASME, DIN, EN).
Knowledge of pipes, pipe fittings, valves, and other piping accessories.
Exposure to both static and dynamic equipment.

REQUIRED PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum 4–8 years of professional experience in process plant manufacturing industries or fabrication workshops.
Proficient in MS Office applications, with strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
