Job Title: Estimation Engineer – Electrical

Job Summary

We, at Emarat Aloula is seeking a highly experienced Estimation Engineer – Electrical with strong expertise in substation projects to support bidding, tendering, and cost estimation activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, pricing, and technical evaluations for electrical and substation-related projects in the UAE/GCC region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, with a strong focus on substations (HV/MV/LV).
  • Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, equipment, manpower, and subcontract works.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to obtain accurate technical and commercial inputs.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations and conduct technical and commercial comparisons.
  • Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure estimates comply with client requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support management during bid reviews, clarifications, and negotiations.
  • Maintain historical cost data and continuously update pricing benchmarks based on market trends.
  • Assist in post-tender activities, including budget handover to project teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the UAE or GCC.
  • Proven experience in substation estimation and pricing (HV/MV/LV).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and installation methods.
  • Familiarity with UAE/GCC market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Experience working with consultants, utilities, and government entities is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, estimation software, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and professional approach.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with DEWA, ADDC, TRANSCO, or similar utility projects (preferred).
  • Immediate or short notice availability is an advantage.
