Estimation Engineer - Fit Out

Job Summary

The Estimation Engineer – Fit-Out is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out projects. The role involves analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare competitive and profitable bids while ensuring compliance with client requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications for interior fit-out projects.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.

• Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

• Prepare BOQ breakdowns, cost plans, and tender submissions.

• Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams during the estimation process.

• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.

• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and tender clarification meetings when required.

• Maintain and update cost databases and historical data for future estimates.

• Ensure all estimates comply with project scope, client requirements, and company policies.

• Support management in bid strategy and pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in interior fit-out estimation.

• Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, or retail fit-out projects.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials and construction methods.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and estimation software.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

• Ability to work under tight tender deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in GCC / Middle East fit-out projects.

• Knowledge of QS practices and contract documentation.

• Familiarity with value engineering and cost control.
