Job Summary
The Estimation Engineer – Fit-Out is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out projects. The role involves analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare competitive and profitable bids while ensuring compliance with client requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications for interior fit-out projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare BOQ breakdowns, cost plans, and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams during the estimation process.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and tender clarification meetings when required.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical data for future estimates.
- Ensure all estimates comply with project scope, client requirements, and company policies.
- Support management in bid strategy and pricing decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in interior fit-out estimation.
- Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, or retail fit-out projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials and construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and estimation software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under tight tender deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in GCC / Middle East fit-out projects.
- Knowledge of QS practices and contract documentation.
- Familiarity with value engineering and cost control.
