Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator Engineer with over 2 years of experience in the furniture or interior fit-out industry. The candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating material costs, preparing BOQs, analyzing drawings, and supporting the sales and production teams with precise costing data to ensure project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study architectural and furniture drawings, specifications, and site requirements.
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for custom furniture items.
- Estimate material, labor, and production costs based on designs and product specifications.
- Coordinate with the design team to ensure clarity in technical drawings and requirements.
- Liaise with vendors and procurement teams for updated pricing and material availability.
- Provide timely and accurate costing data for project proposals and sales team presentations.
- Analyze deviations between estimated and actual costs post-project completion.
- Maintain a database of material rates, labor costs, and past project data for future references.
- Assist in value engineering to meet client budgets without compromising quality.
- Support the project team in budget planning and cost control throughout execution.
Skills & Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in estimation for furniture, interiors, or fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of custom furniture materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret SolidWorks drawings and architectural plans.
- Proficient in MS Excel, costing sheets, and estimation software.
- Good communication and coordination skills with internal teams and vendors.
- Attention to detail and ability to work on tight deadlines.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design, or relevant field.
Preferred:
- Experience working in ERP-based environments (e.g., Odoo).
- Background in commercial or corporate interior projects will be an added advantage.
