Estimation Engineer (Landscape Projects)

The Estimation Engineer (Landscape Projects) is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and technical proposals for landscaping, irrigation, and soft/hardscape projects.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Costing

  • Review tender documents, drawings, and project specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and material take-offs for softscape, hardscape, and irrigation works.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Prepare cost breakdowns including materials, labor, machinery, subcontracting, and overheads.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company pricing standards and market conditions.

Tendering & Proposal Preparation

  • Prepare and submit tender documents, technical proposals, and commercial bids within deadlines.
  • Coordinate with sales, design, procurement, and operations teams to finalize submissions.
  • Clarify tender requirements with consultants, clients, and contractors when necessary.
  • Participate in pre-tender and post-tender meetings or site visits.

Technical & Design Coordination

  • Analyze landscaping designs and irrigation layouts to verify feasibility and accuracy.
  • Recommend cost-saving alternatives and value-engineering solutions.
  • Assist in preparing concept plans, planting lists, and material specifications when needed.

Project Coordination & Handover

  • Support the project team during initial startup by providing cost data, drawings, and clarifications.
  • Review variation orders (VOs), prepare cost implications, and support negotiation with clients.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all estimation files and tender submissions.

Market Research & Supplier Coordination

  • Maintain updated price lists for plants, materials, hardscape items, irrigation components, and subcontract services.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive prices.
  • Track market trends, cost fluctuations, and new materials relevant to landscaping projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in estimation for landscaping or construction projects (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of landscaping materials, plants, irrigation systems, and hardscape works.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and estimation software
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict tender deadlines.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
