Estimator

GL-Events Middle East is looking for a highly skilled Estimator to join our Dubai-based team. If you have at least 3 years of experience in events industry and are eager to take on a dynamic role in an international environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Analyze design proposals, technical drawings and event briefs to prepare itemized estimates
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and cost sheets based on materials, labour, project timelines and design specifications
• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, supplier costs, labor and logistics
• Coordinate with internal teams (design, production and project managers) to ensure budget alignment and feasibility
• Recommend value engineering alternatives and cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality
• Review and assess supplier proposals, pricing and lead times
• Maintain and continuously update a cost and supplier database relevant to the UAE event industry
• Support in pre-tender and post-tender clarifications and negotiations
• Prepare special reports and cost summaries for internal and client-facing use
• Help ensure all project objectives are met within approved budgets

Proven experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as estimator in the events, exhibitions, production, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of event production elements, including walling and finishing, staging, power distribution, and logistics.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Degree or diploma in Event Management, Quantity Surveying, Production, Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of sustainability and cost optimisation in live events.
• Familiarity with industry health & safety and compliance standards.
• Fluent in English
