Overview
R-V Industries, Inc., a leader in custom metal fabrication and engineered equipment solutions, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, advanced knowledge of fabrication processes, and the ability to interpret complex specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
RESPONSIBILITES

Review blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for metal fabrication projects.

Analyze project requirements, materials, labor, and overhead to prepare detailed cost estimates.

Apply knowledge of ASME and AWS welding codes to ensure compliance in project planning and execution.

Evaluate geometric tolerances and complex fabrication details to determine production feasibility and accurate costing.

Collaborate with engineering, production, sales team, and customers to refine proposals and address technical questions.

Source and evaluate pricing for raw materials, subcontracted services, and specialized operations.

Prepare and present formal estimate packages to management and customers.

Track historical costing data and continuously improve estimating accuracy through feedback and project review.
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Associate degree in science or engineering or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

High mechanical aptitude and proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and complex technical specifications.

Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding codes.

Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.

Familiarity with a wide range of metal finishing operations including coating, polishing, and machining.

Strong analytical and math skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in CAD software and ERP systems a plus.
Educational/Physical Requirements
