Estimator – Civil Utilities
This position plays a critical role in driving profitable growth by accurately estimating underground utility projects, including private and municipal sewer connections, lift stations, grease trap installations, and related wastewater infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a "hunter" mindset, comfortable with prospecting and developing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction documents, plans, and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Conduct detailed take-offs and input data into estimating software for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Evaluate RFIs, RFPs, and bid invitations for both private and public sector opportunities.
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for civil utility construction projects.
- Coordinate with the Construction Manager and Project Managers to support seamless project transitions and hand-offs.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain pricing and availability.
- Develop project scopes, proposals, and presentations for client submission and internal review.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and ensure estimates reflect real-world requirements.
- Ensure compliance with municipal regulations and permitting processes where applicable.
- Minimize company risk through quality assurance controls in estimating and proactive communication of scope changes or potential conflicts.
- Track and maintain cost data, historical bid records, and productivity benchmarks.
- Support business development through client outreach, brand promotion, and participation in industry events.
- Identify strategic opportunities in proposals to improve profitability and award likelihood.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in estimating civil underground utility projects, including sewer, lift station, grease traps, and related infrastructure.
- Proven track record working with both private developers and municipal contracts.
- Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and project management tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, utility installation processes, and local Central Florida regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Compensation: $80,000+ annual salary, with performance-based bonuses available.
Location: Just southwest of downtown Orlando, FL. 3031 40th Street, Orlando, FL 32839. This is not a remote position.
