About the Role:
East and Westbrook is seeking a highly skilled Estimator to support our Commercial Construction Division. This role is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates based on project scope, specifications, drawings, and contract proposals. An understanding of Sage Estimating is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Cost Development
  • Prepare cost estimates at all design stages—from schematic and conceptual to detailed take-offs and final pricing.
  • Conduct economic feasibility studies, evaluate changes, and adjust cost estimates accordingly.
  • Visit project sites, warehouses, and other facilities as required to complete accurate estimates.
Client, Vendor & Team Collaboration
  • Build and maintain long-term, positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project managers.
  • Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure complete understanding of project scope, deliverables, external impacts, and performance expectations.
Project Support
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare reports related to schedules, progress, and budget status.
  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule, adjusting critical path and milestones as needed.
  • Track project performance to ensure alignment with schedule and cost objectives.
  • Prepare RFPs for vendor and contractor services.
Safety, Health & Quality Integration
  • Collaborate with the Safety & Quality teams to determine anticipated safety requirements and integrate associated costs into estimates.
  • Apply knowledge of safety practices and regulations relevant to each project environment.
Financial & Reporting Management
  • Manage project financials, monitor budgets, and report cost status and projected final costs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Estimating/Construction Management experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills and advanced computer literacy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Sage Estimating experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent organizational, self-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes and project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and success working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of essential safety practices for various construction environments.
