Estimator – Millwork Division (Quick Bid/OST Experience Required)

Nicholson Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our Millwork division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating commercial and industrial millwork projects, including both new construction and renovation work. This role requires the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.

The Estimator reports to the Director of Estimating to provide accurate, high-quality estimating services to support project bids and client proposals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Estimate Planning & Analysis: Review and analyze project plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to provide accurate estimates and high-level quantity/manpower take-offs for new construction and renovation millwork projects.
  • Bid Preparation & Submission: Create and submit detailed, high-quality estimates and proposals; ensure completeness and competitiveness for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Site & Coordination Support: Attend site visits, bid meetings, walkthroughs, and coordination meetings to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
  • Collaboration: Must maintain an extremely professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and peers to clarify project requirements, evaluate change orders, and maintain highly professional working relationships while aligning estimating strategies with company goals.
  • Documentation & Process Management: Maintain organized records of all estimates, take-offs, and bid proposals; utilize estimating software and templates effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior staff and contribute to ongoing improvements in estimating processes and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience focused on Commercial Specialty Millwork Fabrication and Installation.
  • Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Quick-Bid and On-Screen Takeoff software is required.
  • Strong understanding of millwork fabrication and installation processes and terminology.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints and project specifications.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.

The successful individual will have a minimum of 5 years' prior experience with Quick-Bid & On-Screen Takeoff.

Benefits and compensation are dependent upon experience.

***This is a hybrid role. After a probationary period, Estimators are allowed to work 2 days per week from home on a rotating week-to-week schedule set by the Director of Estimating.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
