Evolution Electrical is a growing, locally owned electrical contracting company serving Oceanside and all of coastal San Diego County. We are a proud NECA member and signatory contractor with IBEW Local 569, operating at the highest standards of the trade.
We are actively expanding into larger commercial projects and multi-family residential work – and this hire is central to making that happen. This role comes with real authority, direct access to ownership, and a clear path to senior leadership.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Estimating:
- Prepare and deliver complete, accurate electrical estimates within 24 hours of site visit or customer inquiry
- Conduct site walks for residential, commercial, and multi-unit properties
- Manage an active estimate pipeline with structured follow-up until each job is won, lost, or tabled
- Develop and maintain pricing templates using our AI-assisted estimating system
- Track win/loss rates and provide weekly updates to ownership
Project Management:
- Own active projects from signed contract through final inspection and customer sign-off
- Build and manage project schedules; coordinate with field crews, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Track project budgets in real time; manage change orders and flag cost variances early
- Coordinate permit applications, AHJ inspections, and SDGE interconnect processes
- Keep customers informed and confident throughout every project – proactive communication is non-negotiable
Business Development:
- Actively pursue larger commercial and multi-family residential contracts
- Leverage NECA membership and IBEW Local 569 affiliation to build relationships with GCs, developers, and property owners
- Identify and pursue new commercial accounts, property management companies, and HOA opportunities
- Attend NECA events, trade shows, and industry functions to grow our referral base

REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of electrical industry experience, with at least 2 years in estimating, project management, or field supervision
- Demonstrated track record writing and winning electrical estimates in commercial and/or residential environments
- Solid knowledge of California Electrical Code (CEC), permit processes, and local AHJ requirements
- Experience coordinating with SDGE or a California utility for service upgrades and interconnects
- Strong written and verbal communication – comfortable with customers, general contractors, and property managers
- Ability to read electrical plans, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings
- Proficient with technology: estimating platforms, field service software, and standard office tools
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (A PLUS – NOT REQUIRED)
- California Journeyman Electrician license (ET card) or higher – C-10 license a significant plus
- Experience with House Call Pro, ServiceTitan, or similar field service management software
- Familiarity with AI estimating tools such as Claude or ChatGPT – we actively use these and will train the right candidate
- OSHA 30 (Construction) certification
- Prior experience in a small-to-mid-size electrical contractor environment
- Knowledge of California DIR prevailing wage requirements
