Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior to Mid-Level Estimator to join our fast-paced signage and digital printing production team. We specialize in high-quality custom signage and large-format digital printing for retail, corporate, architectural, events, and branding projects. Join us and help turn creative designs into profitable, on-time reality.

You will prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for a wide range of custom signage projects and digital print jobs—from small-format retail graphics and wooden/metal display stands to large-format banners, illuminated signs, architectural signage, and full-site branding packages.

This role supports our sales team by turning client inquiries, artwork files, specs, and drawings into clear, timely quotations while learning the full production process. Ideal for someone with printing/signage experience who wants to grow into full-cycle estimating responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Review client requests, RFQs, artwork files (AI, PDF, etc.), site photos, architectural drawings, and specifications to understand project scope
• Perform detailed material take-offs and calculate quantities for substrates (ACM, aluminum, vinyl, foam board, coroplast, polycarbonate, etc.), inks, laminates, hardware, and finishing
• Estimate production times and labor hours across departments: design prep, printing (UV flatbed, eco-solvent, dye-sub, latex), cutting/plotting, routing/engraving, assembly, lamination, and packing
• Calculate costs for installation (if included), permitting, shipping/freight, and subcontractors (e.g., electrical, crane/rigging for large signs)
• Source and compare vendor/subcontractor pricing for materials, outsourcing, and specialty services
• Build and maintain accurate quotes using estimating software, Excel templates, or company ERP system
• Collaborate closely with sales, designers, production managers, and senior estimators to clarify scope, suggest value-engineered alternatives, and ensure estimates align with capabilities and margins
• Revise estimates quickly based on client feedback, design changes, or value-add opportunities
• Prepare professional quote/proposal documents, scope clarifications, and supporting breakdowns for clients
• Track historical job costs vs. estimates to improve future accuracy (post-job review support)
• Stay updated on material prices, machine run speeds, new substrates/inks, and industry trends

Requirements & Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Minimum 1–3 years in estimating, quoting, or production planning role
• Strong preference for prior experience in signage, large-format/digital printing, graphic production, or related custom fabrication industries
• Entry-level candidates with strong production floor experience (printer operator, finisher, or pre-press) in digital printing/sign shops will be considered

• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data management)—advanced level preferred
• Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., QuoteCam, Key Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, SignTracker, or similar) or quick learner for company systems
• Basic understanding of graphic design files (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, PDF) and ability to measure/interpret artwork
• Knowledge of common signage/digital print materials, processes, and typical production rates

Other Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail and strong math/numerical aptitude
• Good written and verbal communication—able to clearly explain quote assumptions to sales and clients
• Organized, able to manage multiple quotes with different deadlines
• Problem-solving mindset; proactive in asking clarifying questions

Nice-to-Haves:

• Exposure to installation costing (labor rates, equipment, travel)
• Familiarity with Zoho CRM/ERP system
• Basic AUTOCAD or drawing mark-up knowledge
