US Aviation Academy is seeking evening STEM Aviation Maintenance Instructor for their General Aviation classes. Instructors teach groups of up to 25 students the principals of math, fundamentals of dc/ac electricity, aircraft drawings and physics required for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification. We are seeking a candidate that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. Hands-on and practical experience with electricity, mechanical devices, or aviation is strongly preferred.

Subjects taught include:

  • Applied Mathematics - fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, percentages, sign numbers, basic geometry, etc
  • Physics - matter, fluid dynamics, atmospheric properties, machines, work, power, energy, motion, heat and temperature and sound as they apply to an aircraft
  • Dc/Ac Electricity - Basic Electricity
  • Technical Drawings in relation to drawings of aircraft parts and repairs to aircraft parts
  • Weight & Balance, Fluid Lines & Fittings, Materials and Process Projects
  • Ground Operations & Servicing & Cleaning/Corrosion Control
  • Maintenance Forms & Records/Mechanics Privileges and Limitations
  • Welding, Aircraft Finishes and Human Factors

US Aviation Academy starts new classes approximately each month. The evening shift works 1 - 11 pm Monday - Thursday. During periods between classes, duties may include assisting other instructors with grading and project setup.

Preferred qualifications include High School STEM courses, hands-on mechanical experience, or aviation interest.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
