Job Title: Event & Marketing Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Advancement

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, full-time 40 hours. Additional hours as required.

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Advancement, the Events and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating three signature fundraising events benefiting the West Side Catholic Center (WSCC): Pancake Run, Sips & Swigs, and the Warm Hearts Winter Nights Benefit, and growing “mini” events throughout the year. In addition to event planning, is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and public relations plans for the WSCC. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Forms collaborative relationships with media and businesses to develop partnerships to enhance WSCC’s market position in the social/non-profit community space.

· Partnering with the Director of Advancement, plans, implements, and oversees the execution of WSCC special events.

· Develops and maintains event and donor database activity – Raisers Edge.

· Works with volunteer committees and coordinates meetings and correspondence within a scope of responsibility.

· Coordinates event/project logistics: publicity, including public relations, collateral material design, production and distribution, and communication strategies.

· Cultivates and expands sponsorship development and fulfillment to raise revenue.

· Coordinates logistics of event ticket sales, donations, and sponsorship.

· Writes, submits, and follows-up to ensure placement of press releases and stories to establish contacts with local media.

· Broadens social networking to benefit the Center. Works with television, radio, print, and internet stakeholders to increase the Center's value.

· Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree

· Minimum of three (3) years of related work or volunteer experience in event planning and marketing.

· Evidence of successful events, sponsorship, marketing, public relations, and relationship programs is required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate specifically with an audience from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Ability to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment

· Able to work independently and monitor own performance objectives.

· Demonstrated knowledge of all social media platforms.

Added Value:

· Ability to film and edit video content for social media

· Demonstrated knowledge of graphic art and/or use of graphic online platforms, i.e. Canva and Adobe

· Previous work in Raisers Edge
