Job Overview
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, social environment and have a passion for providing exceptional service. The Banquet and Event Bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks at various events, ensuring a high standard of service, and creating a positive experience for all guests. You will work closely with event planners, catering staff, and other team members to execute flawless events.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and local regulations.
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and equipment is in good working condition.
- Manage drink orders for large groups or events, ensuring accuracy and timely service.
- Monitor guest behavior and adherence to alcohol consumption policies, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to guests, anticipating their needs and exceeding expectations.
- Assist in setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the bar area for events, ensuring cleanliness and safety throughout.
- Collaborate with event staff to ensure the smooth execution of event details and guest satisfaction.
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods responsibly, following proper cash handling procedures.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations and guidelines.
- Be proactive in identifying and solving any potential issues or concerns during events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of banquet and catering experience preferred.
- Previous bartending or beverage service experience, preferably in a banquet or event setting.
- Knowledge of mixology, cocktail preparation, and bartending techniques.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age required in your jurisdiction).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of alcohol safety and responsible service.
- Bartender’s License required.
PHYSICAL FREQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in loud and energetic work places.
- Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant, banquet space or outdoors quickly.
- Prolonged standing required.
- Ability to walk stairs and move without breaks.
- Ability to read, write and speak clearly.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
