Job Summary

This is a part-time, intermittent position to provide support to rental events scheduled at the Albuquerque Garden Center while also assuring the facility is used appropriately and no damage occurs to the building, gardens, or other equipment. The successful candidate will be available on-site during rental events. The position reports to the President of the Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs, Inc. The incumbent will establish and maintain effective relationships with the Council leadership team, coworkers, customers, and business partners in order to contribute to the success of rental events and protect the facility from damage. Hours vary widely depending on customer requests, but most shifts will occur on evenings and weekends.

Duties

· Opening and closing the building and gates and operating the security system in preparation for and following rental events

· Placing and removing signage throughout the grounds

· Assuring that room temperatures are appropriate

· Confirming that any amenities contracted for are available and working properly.

· Welcoming renters, providing and overview of the facility rules, and answering any questions they may have

· Ensuring that security is in place prior to any alcohol service

· Monitoring activity throughout the event to assure the safety of visitors and the protection of the facility

· Assuring that renters fulfill their responsibilities for leaving the facility in a clean, orderly fashion

· Communicating with President, Facility Chair, and/or Grounds Chair to communicate any issues requiring their attention

Qualifications

· Outstanding communication and personal skills

· A strong customer focus to ensure that all rental event customers have a positive and safe experience at the facility

· Effective organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· The ability to follow directions, think of your fee, and propose solutions

· The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team

· Success in dealing effectively with a diverse set of customers

· The ability to multi-task, prioritize competing requirements, and adapt to changing priorities

Pay: $18.00 per hour
