Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the performance of all outside sales activities associated with selling of a diverse and complex product offering. The Event Consultant is a key driver of revenue growth for the company, and is on the front lines for selling our product and brand to prospects and customers. The Event Consultant will develop and execute plans and strategies to service existing customers while meeting or exceeding profitability goals with the responsibility of acquiring new business and growing the current customer base. Viewed as the primary “face” for the customer and requires strong relationship management. Ability to work on a sales team in a fast paced, complex environment is critical for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for the assigned market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Gather and utilize business intelligence to support sales calls, presentations and drive new business.
  • Stays abreast of competition’s offerings, pricing, advertising and promotions; submits ideas for new products, services, fees, merchandising strategies, promotions, etc.
  • Develop and create a new client pipeline by selling our brand and entire line of products.
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients, understand the depth of the partnership and their rental needs for future events.
  • Meet with customers to determine the event type and recommend appropriate equipment, accessories and services based on the customer’s needs.
  • Provides timely and accurate customer contracts; work with management for the approval of pricing changes while maintaining maximum profit margins.
  • Utilize CRM/contact management resources to manage customer sales strategies and activities to ensure account penetration.
  • When appropriate, attend customer events and lead the coordination of setup and take-down including efficiently utilizing labor and ensuring job site safety.
  • Respond to customer service problems and resolve complaints.
  • Conduct “lessons learned” analysis of sold events to ensure future success and customer satisfaction.
  • Submit accurate activity reports in accordance with stated timelines.
  • Attend industry related functions as assigned by manager.
  • Attend department, location and safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
:

Education/Experience:
Four year degree (Bachelors) in business, sales or marketing preferred; proven track record of success and achievement with three to five years outside sales experience (B2B and B2C) or one year CE customer facing experience. Experience will preferably be in the hospitality, managed services or advertising industries.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to author sales
strategies, employee reviews and other complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Ability:
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
