Event Support Staff

Job Summary
This is a hands-on role supporting multiple areas of our several annual conventions including guest services, admissions, vendor setup, and panel operations. This is not a singular task position. Its helping overall in multiple areas of the event.

Responsibilities

• Assist special guests (voice actors, panelists, VIPs)
• Assist with admissions; ticket scanning, check-in, and wrist-banding
• Provide directions and answer attendee questions
• Help manage lines and crowd flow in high-traffic areas
• Deliver a positive, helpful attendee experience
• Support gaming, entertainment, and other programming areas as needed
• Working with purchases either while with guests, admissions, merch, or other areas
• Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate when needed
• Assist with general event setup including signage, tables, chairs, and equipment
• Support breakdown and teardown at the end of the event

Qualifications

• Strong organization and communication skills
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with change. Being able to adapt and roll with things as they happen.
• Must be available during event weekend(s)

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Experience in events & event planning; Summer camps, festivals, or live events
• AV or stage coordination experience
• Content creation experience or social media familiarity
• Flexibility to work during event weekends, or irregular hours depending on event schedules. This position is perfect for energetic team players who thrive working outside of a routine structured environment.

The event brings together thousands of attendees each year and continues to expand with new programming and experiences. We also host several other convention events in Michigan & Ohio.

Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
