TITLE: Events & Communications Manager

REPORTS TO: Digital Communications Officer

STATUS: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Events & Communications Manager will plan and execute meaningful and effective Community Foundation on-site and off-site events and provide general communications support for Say Yes Syracuse and the Community Foundation’s affiliate funds.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead event planning and execution by collaborating with colleagues and affiliate funds to design engaging in-person, hybrid, and virtual events that advance the Foundation’s mission. Manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics; maintain the event calendar; leverage technology for efficiency; and cultivate strong relationships with vendors and venues.

· Oversee event execution to ensure meaningful, high-quality experiences for attendees. Manage event communications, promotion, and registration; coordinate logistics with staff and vendors; produce event materials and visuals; and provide on-site and virtual support, including photography, technology management, and post-event documentation.

· Implement communications strategies for Say Yes Syracuse, including creating and distributing publications, digital content, and promotional materials; managing email, text, and social media outreach; coordinating with the Syracuse City School District; promoting events and workshops; maintaining the website and contact databases; and sharing alumni and student success stories.

· Provide communications and marketing support for affiliate funds, including coordinating event promotions, public relations, collateral materials, email campaigns, and other outreach efforts to enhance visibility and engagement. Other communications support responsibilities as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Deep interest in and commitment to the Central New York area, its people and their concerns

· Commitment to be guided in all work by the vision of diversity, equity and inclusion that has been established by our staff and board.

· Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required, especially in project and/or event management as well as strategic digital communications.

· Computer proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn all appropriate Community Foundation software

o Familiarity with Adobe Suite publishing software and social media a plus

· Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills

· Superior attention to detail

· Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

TIME REQUIREMENT: This is a full time non-exempt position requiring 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility. Tuesdays through Thursdays are designated in-office days. Staff that choose to work a hybrid work schedule may choose to do so on Mondays and/or Fridays, dependent on management approval. Occasionally, early, late or weekend hours are required for executing events onsite and offsite.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary range is $50,000-$60,000.
