Events & Communications Manager (3+ years exp. req.)

The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), the sales & marketing association supporting the Radio industry, is looking for a talented and creative individual to join its Marketing & Communications group.

Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Events & Communications Manager to elevate our organization’s presence through dynamic event planning and compelling communication strategies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate impactful events, foster stakeholder engagement, and enhance our brand visibility across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing creativity, project management, and excellent communication skills to every project.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse range of events including board meetings, awards show, workshops, and networking functions that align with organizational goals.
  • Manage all aspects of event marketing and promotion to maximize attendance and engagement.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, caterers, and other service providers to secure the best terms and services.
  • Oversee event logistics such as budgeting, catering arrangements, venue setup, and guest services to ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop compelling communication materials including press releases, newsletters, and social media content to promote trade association effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders through excellent customer service and personalized engagement strategies.
  • Project manage sponsorships inclusive of account management, vendor partner activation and execution
  • Track event performance metrics and provide post-event reports to inform future planning efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event marketing and event planning within hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or media and entertainment industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage contracts effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and time management.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging diverse audiences across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrated ability in budgeting and financial oversight for events.
  • Experience in banquet operations or guest services is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry standards including catering coordination and guest experience management.
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Journalism, Public Communications or equivalent
  • 3-5 Years of experience in public relations, communications/marketing field, event planning and management, agency experience or a combination of agency and in-house experience is preferred
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office, Docusign, Project management software, and database list management
  • Digital marketing skills (HTML, email marketing, social media) a plus
