BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) is looking to recruit a driven Events Manager to join their team on a full time, hybrid basis until 31 December 2026 (maternity cover). BAPRAS speaks for the majority of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeons providing services to patients in the UK today. As the voice of plastic surgery, BAPRAS sees its role as increasing understanding of the scope of plastic surgery. They aim to raise the profile of plastic surgeons as an intrinsic element of care teams providing specialist care to patients with a wide range of conditions. Continuing their objective of advancing education, BAPRAS is always looking to promote innovation within the speciality of plastic surgery.Reporting to the Head of Secretariat, the Events Manager is responsible for delivery of an agreed meetings and events programme. You will be required to manage the full lifecycle of events - from concept through to delivery - ensuring every event reflects the Association's values and enhances its reputation and reach.
What you'll do: -As Events Manager you will be responsible for:-
- Programme Management - including the management of a programme of educational courses, acting as primary liaison for the Programme Committee and other events/course stakeholders, collect biographies, administer abstract submission, managing marking and acceptance processes in collaboration with Communication Manager
- Delegate Management - Manage and administer online delegate registration, address delegate queries and send certificates and post event evaluations.
- Sponsorship - Administer trade/sponsorship bookings, increase trade contacts and work with the Communication Manager to prepare marking materials/prospectuses
- Financial Management - Monitor and maintain events budgets
- Live and post event - including attending on site as the main point of contact for the venue, speakers, delegates and trade representatives
What you'll need:-In order to succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate:-
- A proven track record of designing, planning and attending engaging and memorable events
- A strong ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adjusting your communication style to suit a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to negotiate contracts in order to secure favourable terms
- Experience in developing and managing budgets, tracking expenses, and maximizing revenue.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
