Eviction Attorney – Multifamily Unlawful Detainers

Location: Irving, TX (Corporate Office)

Employment Duration: Regular, Full-time

Salary: $120,000 to $140,000 / year + housing discount + benefits

We are seeking a highly skilled Eviction Attorney to join our team. This pivotal role will focus on multifamily unlawful detainers, requiring a comprehensive understanding of landlord-tenant law. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving the eviction process, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements while protecting the interests of our properties. They will provide legal expertise, draft and review necessary documents, and advise on jurisdiction-specific regulations, collaborating with property management teams and external counsel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of the eviction process, including preparing and serving notices, filing legal documents, and appearing on behalf of the company in court proceedings.
• Oversee draft and service of lease violation notices in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Provide legal advice to property management staff regarding resident disputes, lease enforcement, and resident violations.
• Review and revise lease agreements, notices, and related documents to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain accurate records of eviction cases, legal documents, and court proceedings.
• Collaborate with property management teams to address resident issues proactively and minimize legal risks.
• Experience with property management legal issues beyond evictions, such as lease negotiations and compliance matters.
• Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution methods to handle resident disputes outside of court.
• Ability to conduct legal training sessions for property management staff to ensure compliance and reduce legal risks.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Illinois State Bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing landlord-tenant law, with a focus on residential evictions.
• Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws, residential lease agreements, fair housing regulations, and eviction procedures.
• Excellent litigation and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong negotiation and dispute-resolution skills.
• Highly organized with excellent diplomatic, communication skills.
