Position Overview

The Eviction Legal Assistant will support attorneys in managing residential and commercial unlawful detainer cases from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable handling deadlines, court filings, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and prepare eviction-related documents including:
• Notices to Pay or Vacate
• Summons and Complaints for Unlawful Detainer
• Motions for Default and Writs of Restitution
• Declarations and supporting pleadings
• E-file pleadings in Washington State Superior and District Courts
• Track court deadlines and ensure strict compliance with statutory timelines
• Communicate with landlords, property managers, and court clerks
• Coordinate service of process
• Assist attorneys in preparing for show cause hearings and trials
• Maintain organized digital case files
• Provide general litigation and administrative support

Qualifications

• Prior experience in eviction or landlord-tenant law strongly preferred
• Experience with Washington e-filing systems preferred
• Strong drafting and proofreading skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Professional communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
