EVS Housekeeper (7a - 3p and 3p - 11p)

Full Time EVS Housekeeper Position

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of general cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain patient rooms, unit stations, hallways, offices, and public areas to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Position Responsibilities:

· Conducts cleaning duties in patient areas as well as non-patient areas as assigned to include high dusting and mopping of all assigned areas daily.

· Maintains cleanliness of public rest rooms, waiting areas, private/business offices, and employee locker rooms.

· Prepares, sorts and delivers hospital linen to include removal of soiled linen from the building and transporting to designated area.

· Cleans trash receptacles and transports trash to dumpsters.

· Operates cleaning equipment in a safe manner.

· Assists with helicopter landings.

· Reports safety hazards to supervisor or maintenance if required.

· Performs all tasks according to Quality Control Checklist.

· Promotes positive customer relations.

· Compliance with organizational requirements, including policies, procedures and regulations specific to this department.

· Mechanism must be provided for contact of employee (i.e. beeper, telephone, emergency contact)

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

· Must be able to read and write effectively using the English language.

· Must be able to practice regular and dependable attendance (see attendance policy)

· Must be flexible in work schedule and work weekends and holidays per department policy

· Janitorial experience preferred.

Working Conditions

· May be exposed to infectious blood borne diseases.

· Exposed to hazardous chemicals.

· Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.

· Subject to irregular hours.

· Environmental Conditions:

· Occasional exposure to hot and humid environment, cold environment, handling extremely hot or cold object, working outside.

· Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment.

· Works in precarious or high locations (ladders).

· Exposed to hot or noisy equipment.

· Frequently exposed to moving machinery, dust, fumes, odors, mists, toxic gases, poor ventilation, adhesives, water, etc.

· Subject to many interruptions.

· Handles absentee replacement on short notice.

Physical Demands:

· Must be able to lift/carry greater than 30 lbs. for short periods of time, frequently.

· Considerable pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, bending, standing, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
