This role leads administrative operations, supports strategic planning, oversees administrative staff, manages departmental projects, and coordinates major initiatives to advance Fire Department goals.To view the full job description, click here.What You’ll Be DoingProvide executive-level support including confidential scheduling, briefings, and departmental coordination.Lead and supervise Fire Department administrative support staff, including evaluations, coaching, and hiring recommendations.Manage department-wide initiatives and ensure alignment with Fire Department strategic objectives.Coordinate development of the operating and capital budgets; oversee financial workflows and invoicing.Prepare documentation and logistics for disciplinary, fact-finding, and grievance processes with Human Resources.Develop high-level presentations and reports for City leadership, Council, and external stakeholders.Compile and analyze Fire and EMS data to support operational decision-making.Advise the Fire Chief on confidential labor relations, contract administration, and workplace issues.Manage interdepartmental and special projects ensuring timelines, stakeholder coordination, and deliverables.Support meeting coordination, accreditation readiness, regulatory reporting, and executive staff scheduling.Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.*This position is subject to an extensive background investigation (drug use history, criminal convictions, etc...).Also, candidates cannot be employed in the Fire Department if they are listed on the OIG exclusion list; you can check your status here: https://exclusions.oig.hhs.gov/default.aspxREQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field; ANDFive (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, executive support, or analyst experience, including at least two (2) years supporting department leadership in government or public safety.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience supporting a fire or emergency services agency.Experience in a Washington municipal environment.COMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS PACKAGEMedical, dental, vision, with affordable individual and family coverage.Employer Paid Life Insurance.12 days of vacation and 12 days of sick leave during the first year.10 holidays plus 1 floating holiday annually.Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) pension program.Optional 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.Employee Assistance Program, Tuition Assistance, Flexible Spending Plans, Long-Term Disability, and Aflac.Flexible schedules (per department approval).CONTACTPlease call or text HR at (509) 545-3408 or email HR@pasco.gov for questions regarding employment opportunities.*The City of Pasco is committed to supporting diversity and creating an inclusive workplace for all employees. **If your experience does not match every qualification, we encourage you to apply!*
