The Executive Director, Sales - Regulatory & Medical Writing is a strategic commercial leader responsible for driving the growth and market expansion of Veristat’s Regulatory Science and Medical Writing services. This individual leads a team of Business Development Directors focused on delivering high-value, consultative solutions including regulatory strategy, submission support, regulatory operations, and scientific/medical writing.

This role is accountable for defining and executing the commercial strategy for these service lines, expanding strategic client relationships, and positioning Veristat as a leader in regulatory and scientific services across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences clients.

The Executive Director will partner closely with executive leadership and functional experts to align commercial objectives with operational capabilities, ensuring delivery of innovative, client-centric solutions that support regulatory approvals and product development success.

Success in this role is measured by the ability to build and lead a high-performing team, drive significant revenue growth, establish strategic partnerships, and strengthen Veristat’s position within the regulatory science and medical writing market.

What we offer

  • The estimated hiring range for this role is $150 - $210k base salary plus applicable bonus/commission plan. This hiring range is specific to the US and will vary for other regions based upon local market data. Final salary is ultimately decided upon taking into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to: skills and experience, licensure and certifications, education, specific location and dynamic market data.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial leadership within CRO, consulting, or life sciences services.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams.
  • Demonstrated experience selling regulatory affairs, regulatory consulting, or medical writing services strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and global regulatory pathways (FDA, EMA, and other regulatory authorities).
  • Experience leading complex, consultative sales engagements and negotiating high-value contracts.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior and executive-level stakeholders across pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, contract structuring, and deal negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems required.
  • Experience supporting or selling services related to IND, NDA, BLA, or MAA submissions preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory operations, publishing, and eCTD submissions preferred.
  • Experience with medical writing deliverables, including clinical study reports (CSRs), protocols, investigator brochures (IBs), and CTD modules preferred.
  • Established network within Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Development organizations preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling a specialty services sales function (e.g., regulatory consulting, scientific services) preferred.
