Executive, Financial Planning and Analysis – Automotive OEM Supplier Industry

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional to join our team in the automotive OEM supplier industry. The successful candidate will lead the financial planning and analysis processes, collaborate closely with senior management to support strategic decisions, and contribute to the achievement of financial goals across the company. This role also involves active participation in strategic planning processes such as 5-year business plans and full-cycle budget preparation from assumptions to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Develop and maintain robust financial models for forecasting revenue and P&L across various business units in the automotive supply sector. Lead the preparation of annual budgets and long-term 5 year business plan, including detailed sales forecasts (by customer and SKU), procurement inputs, supply chain metrics, BOM-based material costing, labor expenses, CAPEX, OPEX, financing costs, and more. Simulate risks and improvement factors during planning and ensure their integration into the base budget.

Analyze actual business performance against key revenue, cost, and profitability metrics. Reconstruct and validate the P&L after actuals are recorded, using data from the general ledger and trial balance to ensure alignment with projections.

Business Partnership and Strategic Advisory:

Collaborate with senior leaders to understand and support their strategic objectives through financial modeling, what-if scenarios, and sensitivity analysis. Support pricing strategies by preparing internal costing models for all RFQs and consolidating project-level profitability such as EBIT and Profit Before Tax.

Prepare pricing adjustment simulations in response to changing cost structures by evaluating the impact on contribution margin, conversion margin, and overall profitability.

Financial Performance Management:

Monitor and report financial performance regularly through detailed profitability analysis by customer and product group. Prepare weekly actual sales reports, support the preparation of performance dashboards, and conduct profit mix variance analysis (e.g., volume, price, unit cost effects).

Track and analyze purchasing performance by comparing budgeted and actual raw material costs, identifying procurement-related variances, and contributing to cost improvement efforts. In parallel, support the analysis of production efficiency and BOM consumption through production variance reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the budgeting process in close coordination with all relevant departments. Forecast all cost elements including material, labor, manufacturing overhead and SG&A expenses. Review variances between actuals and budget, investigate root causes, and provide actionable insights for performance improvement.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Foster strong relationships with operations, procurement, and sales teams to align financial projections with business objectives. Participate in regular reviews of ongoing and completed RFQ processes, track all related documentation, and support cost validation processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Financial Process Optimization and Reporting Enhancement:

Continuously improve financial reporting accuracy and timeliness. Prepare monthly executive summary reports including P&L and Balance Sheet overviews with clear analysis of deviations and trends. Conduct KPI tests periodically to ensure readiness for external audits and compliance standards.

Support ad-hoc reporting needs such as pricing feasibility studies, contribution margin scenarios, cost improvement opportunities, and customer-side profitability requests. Contribute to basic-level IFRS reporting where applicable and assist the management team in strategic financial decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experienced in financial planning and analysis +7 years, preferably within the automotive supplier industry.
  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Deep understanding of costing, pricing strategies, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with raw material cost tracking and purchasing performance metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

This position plays a critical role in aligning strategic goals with financial performance, ensuring data-driven decision-making in a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment.
