SOS4Students coaches have extensive experience working with middle school and high school students, families, educators, and clinicians to identify issues affecting student academic performance and to develop clear step-by-step plans for the way forward. Many have expertise in special education, school psychology, educational therapy, and advocacy.

WE WANT YOU! SOS4Students is hiring skilled, dynamic, and empathetic coaches to work in-person 1-1 and as workshop facilitators with students, in our Walnut Creek or Oakland offices.

Many students are very bright but struggle with challenges such as ADHD, dyslexia, processing, and working memory issues, which have impacted their learning. Students benefit from executive function support from experienced and motivating academic coaches. Our students come from public and private schools, and a range of cultural, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds.

SOS4Students Coaches must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Teaching, tutoring, or/and 1-to-1 counseling experience with students in middle and high school within the last five years.
  • B.A. or M.A. in Education, Special Education, and/or a Teaching Credential in progress or completed, or other applicable degree
  • Experience working with neurodiverse students.
  • Ability to collaborate with families and schools.
  • Connect easily with adolescents and young adults.
  • Possess a sense of humor, flexibility, and initiative.
  • Knowledgeable and excited about tech tools and apps to help students plan, prioritize, take notes, and prep for tests.
