Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Exhibition Design Assistant to join our creative team. In this paid role, you will support the development of compelling exhibition concepts through digital design, visual storytelling, and technical production. Your creativity and technical skills will help bring immersive environments to life, ensuring each project captures the essence of our clients' visions while adhering to high standards of craftsmanship and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers to develop digital renderings, layouts, and visual concepts for exhibitions using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and SketchUp

• Assist in creating compelling graphics and visual materials for interactive displays and promotional materials

• Support the art direction process by sourcing or creating photography, illustrations, and other visual assets that enhance exhibit storytelling

• Contribute to the development of 3D models and CAD drawings for fabrication using SketchUp or CAD software

• Help prepare presentation materials that communicate design ideas clearly to clients and internal teams

• Conduct on-site measurements at venues, warehouses, and job sites across SoCal

• Participate in research on current trends in exhibit design, graphic design, and digital art to inform innovative solutions

• Support production teams during installation by providing detailed layout plans and visual references

Requirements

• Proven experience or strong interest in digital design, graphic design, or related fields with a portfolio demonstrating relevant work

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

• Proficiency in SketchUp (3D modeling, booth layouts)

• Knowledge of typography principles, color theory, visual design fundamentals, and layout design best practices

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple projects efficiently

• Strong communication skills with an eye for detail

• Valid driver's license (field visits across SoCal)

Nice to Have

• Experience in trade show / exhibition / event design

• AutoCAD or Vectorworks knowledge

• Maya or other 3D modeling software

• Motion graphics / Adobe After Effects

• Web design, HTML/CSS knowledge

• Interior or production design experience
