Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dental assisting procedures, with a focus on expanded duties that enhance patient care and clinic efficiency. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety.
- Perform chairside assisting with expertise in aseptic technique, dental terminology, and anatomy knowledge to support efficient treatment delivery.
- Take and develop X-ray images using Eaglesoft adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) including Epic and Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, dental records, and treatment plans.
- Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, maintaining aseptic environments, and following OSHA guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing patient flow.
- Utilize 3D scanners for prosthodontic or implant cases to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning.
- Support the dental team with general assisting duties while demonstrating expertise in medical coding and documentation for billing purposes.
- Foster a positive patient experience by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns professionally, and maintaining a compassionate attitude throughout all interactions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dental assistant with advanced duties in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting.
- Ability to operate digital X-ray equipment and 3D scanners accurately while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, hygienists, administrative staff, and patients of diverse backgrounds.
- Complete a paid one day working interview demonstrating restorative skills. Such as white restoration placement and crown temporary fabrication.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
