Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Duties

• Coronal polishing as part of dental prophylaxis as primary focus
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials a
• Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Record patient records using Dentrix software.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a comfortable atmosphere for young patients.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting with dental receptionist duties when required.
• Maintain knowledge of dental anatomy to assist in various procedures effectively.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Dentrix software is advantageous.
• Knowledge of general dentistry practices, pediatric dentistry, and infection control measures is essential.
• Understanding of vital signs monitoring and basic anatomy knowledge is beneficial for patient care.
