This will give you a lot of variety in day-to-day procedures, which are always performed at the highest level. As an EFDA, you will be instrumental in enhancing treatment efficiency, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Duties

  • Perform chairside assisting during various dental procedures, including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, implant dentistry, IV sedation, periodontal surgery, and oral surgery.
  • Execute expanded functions such as coronal polishing, fluoride treatments, and temporary restorations in accordance with state regulations and clinic protocols.
  • Take and develop high-quality X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and safety.
  • Manage electronic medical records using Curve to ensure accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding.
  • Assist with sterilization processes and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards within the clinic.
  • Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
  • Support front desk operations by coordinating appointments as a dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize workflow and reduce procedure times.
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
  • Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning.

Requirements

  • Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification or license as required by state law.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry.
  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Curve is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of dental procedures across all specialties.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
