Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner
• Seat patients, review medical histories, and prepare them for procedures
• Perform EFDA duties as allowed by state regulations, including but not limited to:
• Placing and contouring restorations
• Taking impressions
• Fabricating and placing temporaries
• Applying sealants and fluoride
• Assisting with restorative and surgical procedures
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records
• Assist with sterilization, operatory turnover, and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment
• Take high-quality radiographs
• Support dentists, hygienists, and team members as needed
• Educate patients on post-op instructions, oral hygiene, and treatment plans

Experience & Requirements:

• Active EFDA certification (required)
• Radiographer license (required)
• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, restorative procedures, and clinical protocols
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices
• Experience with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, patient-focused attitude
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork

We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with hours of Tuesday 8-7, Wednesday 8-7 and Thursday 8-6.
