Responsibilities

• Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, temporary restorations, and other duties permitted under the RDAEF2 certification to enhance patient treatment plans.
• Perform cord retraction of gingiva for impressions, apply cavity liners, and polish/contour amalgam restorations
• Assist chairside during a variety of procedures in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence.
• Take and develop high-quality X-ray images following proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records efficiently using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
• Conduct vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials while maintaining strict infection control standards.
• Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team including dental receptionists to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent service delivery.

Skills

• Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
• Skilled in dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures.
• Experienced in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficient workflow.
• Capable of operating dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics.
• Familiar with pediatric dentistry practices and providing compassionate care for young patients.
• Knowledgeable in infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols within a dental clinic environment.
• Ability to interpret X-ray images accurately and perform medical coding for insurance purposes.
• Comfortable working with general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics.
