Salary
This is a per-trip contract position with a competitive daily rate ranging from
1500 EGP
to 3000+ EGP
based entirely on experience, specific certifications, and the value the candidate brings to the role.

Rate Determination: Final compensation is tiered and commensurate with proven leadership experience and relevant safety certifications (WFR, WEMT, etc.). Higher rates are reserved for candidates who possess multiple advanced qualifications and a demonstrated history of successful trip management.

Job Purpose
The Expedition Manager will be the primary point of contact for assigned schools, responsible for the end-to-end management, planning, and execution of multi-day, overnight student expeditions. This role requires a dynamic blend of logistical expertise, educational leadership, and robust safety management to ensure outstanding experiences for students and teachers in both field and residential settings.
In addition to these duties, the Expedition Manager will lead the group of team leaders responsible for running the activities and entertainment program, while retaining ultimate accountability for the overall success of every trip.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Trip Planning & Coordination

Logistics Management: Plan and coordinate all travel logistics, including transportation (buses, flights, local transport), accommodation, catering, and activity schedules, ensuring efficiency and adherence to all regulations.

Stakeholder Relations: Act as the main liaison between the company, school administration and teachers, providing expert advice and clear communication throughout the planning process.

Safety & Compliance: Develop and implement detailed risk assessments, emergency action plans, and safety protocols for all trip locations and activities. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and internal safety standards (e.g. child protection policies).

Resource & Equipment Management: Manage tripping equipment inventory, coordinate necessary purchases, and ensure all gear and first-aid supplies are readily available and maintained.

Administrative Duties: Handle budgeting and post-expedition reporting.
Field Operations & Overnight Travel

Trip Leadership: Lead and guide overnight expeditions in the field, taking control of daily operations and serving as the primary decision-maker during the trip.

Student Supervision & Well-being: Ensure the continuous safety, well-being, and positive group dynamics of all participants (students, teachers, co-leaders) in residential and outdoor settings.

Educational Facilitation: Deliver engaging briefings, presentations, and hands-on learning experiences that align with the trip’s educational objectives and the school’s curriculum.

Problem-Solving: Adapt effectively to unexpected challenges such as weather delays, itinerary changes, or incidents in the field, providing 24/7 support and making critical judgments to keep everyone safe.
Required
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in expedition leadership, outdoor education, or a similar role involving multi-day, overnight travel with youth/teen groups.

Standard First Aid Certification

Advanced First Aid certification (e.g., Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or WFA) Optional/Added Value

Successful passing of enhanced background check

Skills: Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

Mindset: A genuine passion for educational travel and a “can-do” approach to working in demanding, remote environments.
Preferred

Relevant outdoor activity qualifications (e.g., Mountain Leader assessed, a background in hiking/camping/water activities).

Experience in an account management or sales environment, including presenting to parents and school staff.

Cultural competency and experience working with diverse youth, including Indigenous communities.
Application & Selection Process
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, especially children, is our top priority. As such, a mandatory training program is a critical component of our hiring process.
All applicants selected for the position will be required to attend a mandatory, five-day, in-person training program as a final condition of employment. Only candidates who successfully complete and pass this training will be considered for the position.

Training Dates: Tuesday, 27 January 2026 – Saturday, 31 January 2026 (09:00 am to 04:00 pm)

Location: New Cairo (specific location to be sent as we get closer to training dates)

Compensation: This training is paid at a daily stipend rate 850 EGP/day for all participants. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
Commitment & Reimbursement Agreement
Selected candidates will be required to sign a training reimbursement agreement.
This agreement stipulates that you agree to repay the direct costs of the training program (e.g., cost of trainers, materials, and associated fees) on a pro-rata basis should you voluntarily resign or fail to complete your first contracted expedition within 6 months of the training date. This ensures commitment and protects our investment in your development.
