Chicky Blooms is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Floral Designer to join our creative team. If you have a passion for flowers, a keen eye for design, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to meet you!

Position Details

• Role: Floral Designer (Part-Time / Temp-to-Hire)
• Hours: 15–25 hours per week (with opportunity for more during busy seasons)
• Start: Immediately – we need extra hands for our exciting Grand Opening!
• Pay: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)

• 2+ years of professional floral design experience (retail, weddings, or events)
• Ability to create custom arrangements, centerpieces, and bouquets with speed and precision
• Strong knowledge of flower care and handling
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work independently and follow Chicky Blooms’ design style

Duties

• Design and assemble fresh floral arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, events, and everyday displays
• Collaborate with customers to understand their vision and provide expert floral design recommendations
• Maintain the freshness and quality of flowers through proper handling, watering, and storage techniques
• Assist with inventory management by stocking flowers, foliage, containers, and other floral supplies
• Ensure the store’s floral displays are attractive, well-organized, and aligned with current merchandising standards
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions involving floral sales and retail products
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, offering floral care advice, and processing sales efficiently
• Design and create custom floral arrangements for daily orders, events, and corporate accounts
• Assist with shop set-up, inventory, and maintaining a clean, welcoming workspace
• Help with holiday/event prep and grand opening festivities

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Floral Designer or in a similar floral arrangement role with a strong portfolio of work
• Knowledge of horticulture principles, gardening practices, and flower care techniques
• Ability to create diverse floral designs that meet customer specifications and aesthetic standards
• Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Familiarity with retail operations including POS systems, cash handling, cashiering, and retail math
• Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels, merchandising displays, and seasonal arrangements
• Passion for gardening and landscape maintenance to enhance overall store presentation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
