Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a full caseload of applicant-side workers’ compensation cases from intake through resolution.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals before the WCAB.
  • Develop case strategies, draft pleadings, and handle all aspects of litigation.
  • Build strong, empathetic client relationships and communicate effectively throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and staff to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a California applicant or defense attorney handling all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (not required but highly valued).
  • Minimum of 3 workers’ compensation trials that result in a Findings and Award (F&A)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload independently with team support.
  • Strong written, oral, and strategic advocacy skills.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Oakland.
  • Must carry a valid California driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to depositions and various WCAB board hearings throughout the Bay Area

Preferred:

  • Experience with 100% PTD, catastrophic injury or death benefit cases is a plus
  • Proven ability to deliver high-value results and maintain empathy for injured workers.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Bonus: Very competitive, performance-based bonus program

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
