Experienced Automotive Parts Counter Person
The Parts Counter Person is responsible for Assisting the Parts Manager in running a profitable and efficient Parts department. He/she will accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising.
Automotive Parts Manager Responsibility:
- Prepare, administer, and monitor an annual operating budget for the Parts Department.
- Forecast goals and objectives and strive to meet them.
- Create and maintain a positive relationship with customers, ensuring that department staff is helpful, as well as making customer satisfaction a priority to ensure referral and repeat business.
- Ensure the parts inventory and reconciliation is completed in a timely manner
- Ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
- Attend managers' meetings and strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales. Comply with hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know regulations
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all department staff.
- Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees. Monitor department employees' payroll records.
- Conduct meetings with department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation.
- Develop, enforce and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines.
- Establish and enforce a pricing policy that balances volume, customer loyalty, and the cost of doing business
Automotive Parts Manager Required Experience and Skills:
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills are required to work with customers , employees and vendors
- Required to maintain the profitability of the department while controlling expenses and maintaining customer satisfaction
- Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication
- Must be willing to work extended hours as needed, including evenings and weekends
- Must have previous management experience in the auto industry*
