Experienced Auto/Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

SENIOR LITIGATION AUTO/PI PARALEGAL

N.B.! Do not apply if you do not have experience in this field or you have not handled cases from intake to settlement for at least one year prior to applying for this job.

The Law Office of David Ellin, P.C., located in Reisterstown, Maryland is a personal injury law practice representing clients throughout Maryland.

At this time, we seek to hire a full-time experienced litigation Auto/PI paralegal. The candidate must have experience in handling personal injury/ automobile accident cases at the circuit and district court levels (PRE-LITIGATION and LITIGATION PHASE).

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Communicating effectively and professionally with clients and parties involved in a lawsuit over telephone and in person;
• Do intakes;
• Assisting lawyers in preparing trials;
• Gathering discovery; review and draft discovery requests/responses;
• Requesting any reports, records or documents needed for cases;
• Drafting various documents such as affidavits, pleadings, letters to insurance companies, simple motions;
• Requesting medical records and bills;
• Reporting to the office manager as needed, as well as attend weekly or quarterly staff meetings;
• Paralegal will be under frequent supervision from lawyers and office manager.

Requirements: Punctuality, professionalism, commitment, and excellent communication and writing skills are of paramount importance;

• A minimum of three - year of experience recommended;
• Highly organized and detail-oriented;
• A minimum high-school degree or equivalent paralegal experience required;
• Other minimum qualifications include: knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic technological and research skills necessary to pull requested documents from online resources required;
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and vendors;
