Experienced Babysitter/Nanny (Special Needs Children)

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Babysitter/Nanny to provide exceptional care for children with special needs in their homes and create nurturing and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience with individuals with intellectual, behavioral and/or developmental disabilities.

We are looking for candidates who are compassionate, reliable and are comfortable engaging with children through play and daily routines. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere while ensuring the children's well-being.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in developmentally appropriate activities
• Prepare meals and snacks, as requested by families.
• Complete School pick up or drop off
• Maintain a clean and organized environment by tidying up play areas and assisting with household chores related to childcare.
• Provide first aid as needed and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Assist with homework and educational activities for older children.
• Support children with disabilities by adapting activities to their needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
• Foster a nurturing relationship with each child while encouraging independence.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience with individuals with exceptionalities
• Candidate must have reliable transportation
• Comfortable with a wide range of developmental abilities
• Skills in meal preparation and cooking for children are highly valued.
• Certification in first aid or CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages.
• A background in therapies (i.e. ABA therapist, RBT's, OTA, SLPA and PTA), special education (I.e. paraprofessionals) or nursing experience (i.e. LPN, CNA) will be considered an asset.
