Job Overview

Duties
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using Toast POS system ensuring clear communication of guest preferences
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Manage multiple tables efficiently through excellent time management skills during busy hours
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments via POS systems
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all serving areas, including bussing tables and assisting with food handling and preparation as needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any service issues proactively
- Uphold food safety regulations and sanitation protocols to guarantee a safe dining environment for guests and staff
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction
- Support host/host duties when necessary by managing reservations, seating guests efficiently, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues during peak hours or busy shifts
Skills
- Proven experience as a server in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings with a strong background in food service and hospitality
- Familiarity with POS system Toast for order entry, billing, and reservations management
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and handle guest concerns gracefully
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, food handling procedures, and basic math for accurate check processing
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is a plus for understanding food preparation processes
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities while enhancing guest experience
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling, cashiering, and balancing registers accurately
- Knowledge of food industry terminology related to serving, food preparation, and restaurant operations
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff, hosts/hostesses, and management
